Junior Tennis Initiative

Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI is a programme supported by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The aim of the j program is to increase the number of people playing tennis in the entire world. ITF tennis to 6-12 year old children in primary schools to identify their talent. This is mostly done in public schools to help the children have afternoon activities and attract them to stay in the sport. This also helps to create awareness to the public and making it more attractive with the game formats that are used.

The target of this initiative is to bring more female players in the sport and more schools around Botswana to be involved. The program is to ensure that young people get a chance to have more fun, be independent as it is an independent sport and discipline the young kids.

The programme in Botswana is administer by a Programme Coordinator who organises the activities with schools and helps the teachers to train the learners and organise play and stay workshops for them. Full programme document is available through this link.
